Published in conjunction with the 1972 Kunstmuseum Luzern exhibition entitled "The Paintings", this is the original appearance of the photographic sequence "Oh, the Grand old Duke of York" by British conceptualists Gilbert & George. Capturing the pair descending an imposing stone staircase accompanied by the repeating phrase "No UP, no DOWN", these same images were reconfigured in the form of a small 1996 flip book published Oktagon Verlag. An internally most handsome example of the exceedingly uncommon 1972 first edition whose white wrappers show age-toning, soiling and spotting along with noticeable insect damage along the top and bottom edges of the front cover.
