IMOGEN CUNNINGHAM: MOTHER'S DAYS
(CUNNINGHAM, IMOGEN). Weber, Bruce, Rondal Partridge & John Stevenson. New York: Little Bear Press, 2002. First Edition 1/3000. Small 4to. Pictorial Boards. Photography Monograph. As New/No Jacket - As Issued. np (84pp), 38 tritone illustrations. Designed by Sam Shahid. This charming book of previously unpublished work by the pioneering California photographer Imogen Cunningham is published by Bruce Weber's Little Bear Press. It is a loving little document consisting of informal images of her family (primarily her three sons) taken during the twenties and thirties. These are wistful, intimate photographs, all beautifully reproduced. The text is by gallerist James Stevenson, and is accompanied by the transcript of an interview between Bruce Weber and Cunningham's son (and well-known photographer in his own right) Rondal Partridge. As with all of Bruce Weber's books, the quality of the design, paper and printing is impeccable. Not unlike the previous books, there will be only one printing of this title. A brand new, pristine example still in the publisher's shrinkwrap. 0-9705745-2-5 Inventory Number: 023534
