The prints are accompanied by a twenty-eight page hardbound book that typographically transcribes in French and English "J'Accuse...!" - Emile Zola's famous 1898 letter to French president Felix Faure in defense of Dreyfus - along with brief scholarly essays on Shahn, L'Affaire Dreyfus, and this project. A brand new, most handsome example of the deluxe, hors commerce 1984 first Crossroads Books edition of this significant undertaking limited to sixty NUMBERED (XXIII/XL) copies whose prints are on Grand Arches handmade pure rag verge paper - superior to the Arches paper of the trade edition.
